Sprouted Sage Full Circle Intervention is a comprehensive intervention center dedicated to providing natural, play-based opportunities for learning where children actively interact with peers and members of our team to build social, play, and daily living skills. It was created by Dr. Suzi Naguib, Carrie Miller, and Jeff Snyder, a team of passionate mental health professionals, who previously worked together at the University of Michigan Autism and Communications Disorders Center (UMACC) before it closed its doors in 2010. Each of our leaders bring a wealth of knowledge and clinical expertise through years of experience, ingraining a comprehensive approach into Sprouted Sage’s clinical service model. We are thrilled at the opportunity to bring them all together under one roof.

Sprouted Sage opened its doors in 2021, a decade after its sister mental health center, Sunfield Center, first opened its doors in 2011.

Sunfield Center’s founder, Dr. Suzi Naguib, was inspired to create Sprouted Sage from the experience she and her two daughters had attending an outstanding preschool in Ann Arbor, MI. Suzi’s daughters received individualized learning experiences that helped them build their social, motor, creative, and personal skills while also fostering independence in a safe and compassionate environment. They loved the experience so much, they didn’t want to leave!

Following this experience, our leadership team felt a desire to create an enriched and caring environment for children with special needs. Together, they brought Sprouted Sage to life. Sprouted Sage offers a naturalistic, preschool-like environment where children receive intensive intervention by a team consisting of social workers, educational specialists, applied behavior analysis, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists. Sprouted Sage offers kids the chance to actively interact with their peers and adults, modeling precisely the sort of environment that kids at this age should be exposed to.

Every member of our team is committed to providing the best service and care for our patients, families, and greater community. One of our favorite little rules we share with our sister center, Sunfield, is our “no shoes” policy, to make sure our home stays clean and welcoming for everyone. You might notice the little sign by the door on your way in; everyone who walks inside, including our staff, interacts and walks around with our socks or slippers on, just like we do at home!

Our community has played an integral role in the creation of Sprouted Sage. In our early planning stages, our team sought input from parents through focus groups to ensure we understood our community’s needs.

Our Mission

We are a Comprehensive Intervention Center dedicated to transforming the lives of toddlers and young children diagnosed with autism. We know that family involvement is instrumental to a child’s social and emotional development. As a result, we ensure caregivers are key members of our team. Our evidence-based, nurturing approach within a naturalistic learning environment helps children develop communication, socialization, play, emotional regulation, self-help and school readiness skills.

We are equally committed to providing best-in-class education and training opportunities to graduate social work, speech language pathology and occupational therapy students.
